Adventure of the Seas Day 5

Today we woke up to a great view of Martinique.

We got off the ship and went for a walk around the area near the port. Today was unique. The cruise terminal appears to be right at a shopping area the the residents use too. Most places kind of keep us in a tourist area which most likely means higher prices so this was interesting.

When we were getting off the ship, it started raining. We didn't want go to back to the ship and up to our cabin to get our umbrellas, so I bought an umbrella. Guess what? The rain quit and we did not see a single rain cloud in the sky. That how it seems to go.

We found it interesting that we walked past a KFC and there was a McDonald's across the street from the ship.

The restrooms seemed to be a little different too.

We had a map and got lost trying to find Cathedrale Saint-Louis (Saint-Louis Cathedral). So we went into a pharmacy to ask for directions. The clerk in the pharmacy pointed out the store window and said it is under the scaffold about a block away. They were most likely thinking. "Darned Americans are "your choice of interesting language here".

Once in the cathedral we walked around a little while. We were overtaken by the beauty of the stained glass windows and pipe organ.

After that we headed back to the ship. We then went to guest services to find out how to catch our shuttle to the airport on Saturday morning.

Off to lunch we went. The food looked better today, but tastes about the same. The deserts were pretty good too.

Then we went to the spa to see if we could get a facial and massage. No luck, they were booking after 8 tonight and we were planning other things. I guess we will check back tomorrow and see what is available.

From here it was back to cabin to read and watch the world go by.

Today was water filling day for the ship. It appears that we use a lot of water?

Arrived a little early for the show again tonight. Our server was the same as we had serving us the entire cruise. Gabor was kind and efficient. He also remembered our drinks from night to night. My memory can barely get me back to our cabin and he remembers drinks like it is nothing.

The show was a tribute to Elton John. The performance left a lot to be desired. The performer was brought in from Las Vegas. He had a really good voice and was a great piano player. Unfortunately he had to work too hard to impersonate Elton John, which made the show terrible.
