We got up at 3:30 am for a 6:20 flight on Jet Blue airlines. We paid a pretty penny for our tickets and then had to pay another $25 per checked bag. Amazing how the airlines nickel and dime you. Everyone we interacted with prior to boarding the plane were less than friendly.
When we took our seats we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of leg room and the comfort of the seats. The co-pilot came into he cabin to welcome everyone on-board. He also gave us information about the flight. Nice touch. This was also a little scary. I am not sure he was old enough to ride a bike let alone fly an airplane. The flight attendants were much more friendly than everyone we had met so far.
As we took off the sun was rising which made for a nice view.

The process of getting our bags was quick. Once we had our bags we headed to the pre-paid transfer location. What an unorganized mess that was.
We finally made it on to the ship and walked straight through check-in and right on to the ship. I forgot to take my cellphone out of my pocket to take off my belt, I would have made it through security on my first try. Instead, it took me three tried...oops!
Once on the ship we went to the Windjammer for lunch. The food and deserts were great. After lunch we walked around the ship a little bit. Cabins became available at 2:00 pm. We went to our cabin and took a nap. What great adventurers we are.
We have visited several parts of the ship. The ship is a nice ship but definitely needs some work. I am guessing that it is just meeting Royal Caribbean's standards.

The ship left the dock at approximately 8:30 pm. Everything was wonderful until we were out in the ocean, the seas were a little rough. The ship is rolling a little more than you might expect. There have been a few interesting rolls that took us by surprise.
On to a quick snack consisting pepperoni pizza before the welcome aboard show. We got there early. We sat is four different sets of seats before finally deciding on the ones we thought we liked. We weren't sure we like them but we thought about moving again. There are too many people in the theater now.
| Welcome Aboard Show - The Lyric Theatre |
The comedian, Angelo Tsariuchas, who was the main entertainer put on a great show. He will be performing a midnight adult comedy show tomorrow night.
That was the good part of the show. The cruise director also talked for quite a bit of time both before and after the show. Everything she sad in English was presented again in Spanish. This makes sense since we embarked from San Juan, but was annoying for us. I am sure the Spanish speaking cruisers appreciated this. The ship had a large number of Spanish speaking cruisers.
The cruise director, Mercedes, will not change our best cruise director on our list of the best of's. Richard Spacey is still the best cruise director we have ever seen.
