Adventure of the Seas Day 2

We slept in this morning. We went down to the shore excursions desk. After reviewing our excursions with the cruise excursion staff, we cancelled all our excursion. We did this so we could do what we want when we want and not be stuck having to get up early. This made it so we can stay up later to see the night time shows. On past cruises we never saw the late shows because we were always getting up early for our excursions.

We finished breakfast around 11:00. After we ate we got off the ship and walked around the port area in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The beach next to the pier was beautiful. The sand was perfect. The breeze was great and the water was a perfect blue.

We got back on the ship and decided to walk along the promenade and get something cool to drink. We ended up with sandwiches, cookies and rice crispy treats.

On to the solarium we went. We found a great spot overlooking the water with a great view of St. Croix. Rested there for a while

We decided to head back to our cabin and take a nap until it was time for the ship to leave port.

You can't get much more relaxed and have such a care free day than this.

We were out of port and headed to sea about 5:30. The sky's were beautiful.

The French navy ship was in port when we arrived. The ship was the L9032 Dumont D'Urville

We watched the first headline show with the action comedy of Michael James. He performed a bit of magic, Chinese yo yo and ladder tricks with an 8 ft ladder. And of course the ship was rocking quite a bit tonight so that had to make the acts even harder.

We sat in the same seats we sat in the night before. The bartender walked over and asked us if we would like the drinks we had the night before....what a memory. He had the entire balcony area to cover so this was impressive.

Tonight's dinner in the Windjammer left a little to be desired. Of course it was formal night and most people are eating in the main dining room.

This day was one of the most relaxing days we have had on a cruise in quite a while. Actually, this was the only cruise since our first cruise in 1997 that we did not have a schedule to keep.
