We woke up in time to watch as our ship was backing into the port in St. Kitts.
Holland America's Oosrerdam was already in port when we arrived.

Off to breakfast followed by a walk out to she shops at the end of the pier. This area is about the same as a lot of the ports we have been to. Lots of jewelry stores, souvenir shops and a
Del Sol shop. The Del Sol shop has the color changing shirts and other items that change color in then sun. We didn't end up buying anything.
While walking around the shops we saw lots of people with green monkeys on their shoulders. We got to take pictures with a monkey on our shoulders for the bargain price of $10.

Back on the ship, we walked around the ship visiting areas we hadn't seen yet. One of the places was the chapel on deck 14. This was a quiet and peaceful place to be.

Hazardous Workers on Promenade
(art work of course) |
We grabbed a snack at the cafe on the promenade and headed back to the cabin for a while.
Today was the ships refueling day. We had a fuel barge and tug boat beside us for several hours. This is the first time we had ever seen this.

Maintenance crews were cleaning the outside of the ship. They were also fixing the radar on the back of the ship and who knows what else.

It is a beautiful day at a beautiful port. There weren't any beaches within walking distance of the pier. The views from the ship were wonderful.

I think we need to have a vacation house on St Croix and St Kitts. Wow, this is going to get expensive.
Oh yeah, we were stuck in our cabin and couldn't get out this morning. The door lock was stuck. This is the second time this has happened. The first, I was outside and couldn't get in and Judy was stuck inside....not a good situation.
The maintenance man stopped by and replaced all the inner workings of the lock. Hopefully, we won't get locked in our cabin again.
